Alem de remix de OSTs de musicas (principalmente Touhou), seria uma boa você ouvir Infected Mushroom, Skazi, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, The Prodigy e procure tambem por musicas originais no Youtube, acredite ou não, da pra achar muita coisa boa.

- Que artistas podem mesmo ser considerados como techno?

Techno é o genero mais antigo da musica eletronica, se você ouvir algo que se pareça com Kraftwerk, é techno. Agora, pra você eu recomendaria mais é trance e hardcore.

- Quais são as características do gênero? (eu só me lembro das batidas rápidas, mas deve haver outros)

O "bate estaca", sons eletronicos e uso de sintetizadores são as caracteristicas basicas, agora quando se trata dos outros generos (House, Electro, Trance, etc) a historia muda.

E precisa ter letra? Uma boa parte das musicas que se tocam em baladas atualmente tambem não tem letra ou tem letra repetitiva e nem por isso são ruins, mas ai é claro que varia de gosto para gosto. Eu por exemplo adoro hardcore eletro instrumental.
