10. Crysis is one of the best looking games of all time. At times the game is almost photo realistic. The game play is no slouch either. Crysis gives the player the freedom to make the game their own through varying tactics and upgrades. The game boasts an amazing physic engine that brings the mayhem to life. It really is a shame that most people never got a chance to play the game.

9. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption often gets forgotten by many since it is a Wii exclusive. However, do not let that detract you from playing one of the best FPS's of all time.To the surprise of many the Wii controller feels completely natural to the series. In fact after playing the game you will not want to go back to playing Metroid with a regular controller.

8. Resistance 2 is one heck of a game. For many the Chicago level alone was one of the most intense gaming experiences they have ever played. While the atmosphere may have changed for the worse since the first game, Resistance 2 one ups the first game in almost every way. The multi-player is one of the best on the PS3. The game served to further establish Insomniac as one of the best developers in the business.

7. Left 4 Dead is one of those games that if you have not experienced it yet, you really need to. No amount of trailers or screen shots can put into words the intensity of the game when you are under control. Hands down this game is the best co-op experience of all time. Nothing else can even come close. The game-play is highly refined and addictive. Valve really created another masterpiece with this one.

6. Bioshock is one of those games that come around every so often and turns the conventional wisdom of a FPS upside down. Combining RPG elements, with Plasmids and a great selection of guns was pure genius. The game is one of the most atmospheric games you will ever play. The only downside to the game was the lack of multi-player. However Bioshock went on to be a huge hit.
5. The juggernaut known as Halo 3 has remained a cultural phenomenon since the day it was released. The game pretty much set the standard for all online multi-player FPS games. At the time Halo 3 may not be the best looking shooter on the list but what it lacks in looks it makes up for in game-play. You would be hard pressed to find a smoother playing shooter than this. The only downside to the game is an underachieving single player.

4. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 took all the great aspects from the first Bad Company and perfected them. The multi-player is one of the finest there is and has a great community to back it up. The single player campaign feels more cohesive than the first outing and not just tacked on. DICE really created a masterpiece with this one

3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare exploded onto the scene with a vengeance back in 2007. For years Call of Duty and other games and relied on the tried and true hit maker that was WWII shooters. Modern Warfare brought war to a gritty modern day setting. The star of the game was the multi-player, which became the series biggest selling point from that day forward.

2. Killzone 2 is an absolute beast of a game. It packs an epic single player and a deeply satisfying multi-player into one cohesive package. Without a doubt the game is the best FPS on the PS3 to date. Killzone 2 is a visual stunner that not only managed to match the 2005 E3 target trailer but at time exceed it. To put it plain and simple...Killzone 2 is one of the best FPS's of all time.

1. When it comes to first person shooters it doesn't get much better than The Orange Box. Not only do you get Half Life 2 and Episodes 1 and 2, you also get Team Fortress 2 and the now legendary game Portal. The best part is the game can be found for under $20 dollars now. Enough said.
